Raining Cats and Dogs

Today was a beautiful day. Still a little too hot to play outside, but not horrible. About 2 hours ago it started to rain in spurts. We finally gave into Daxton's begging and let him go out into the rain for a few minutes. It was nice to have some rain to help us cool off.

He doesn't like thunder:

Who Doesn't Like Peaches?

We bought the BEST peaches today. I'm being honest when I say that these peaches were most likely the best I've ever eaten.

We didn't actually buy them to eat them though... I found a recipe for peach cobbler cupcakes and have been itching to make them. I topped them with a honey cinnamon frosting to give it more of that cobbler taste so it didn't taste like just another peach cupcake. :0)

I'm a little bummed that my biggest fan is in bed and won't be able to enjoy some of these tonight. (I'm sure he'll talk me into letting him have one for breakfast)

C is for Cookie

I won the giveaway over at Made by Heidi that I posted about a few days ago!! If you haven't seen her site you need to!

Dax loves Sesame Street. We were watching a cookie monster segment the other day, and I started to crave something sweet. After searching around my favorite blogs, I decided to make pillow cookies. (chocolate chip cookies with a brownie in the middle)

This picture doesn't do it justice. They were a chocohalic's dream.

Of course I needed an official taste tester!

His First Apple

No words can describe the joy my son felt eating his first apple. So we recorded him. :0) Of course he stopped talking the second he saw the camera. Little Turkey... The video is still pretty cute.

Happy Pioneer Day

Now, if you aren't from Utah, or a member of the LDS church, you're probably wondering 'What the heck is pioneer day?!' Well, here's your answer:

Pioneer Day (also archaically called the Day of Deliverance)is an official holiday celebrated on July 24 in the U.S. state of Utah, with some celebrations in regions of surrounding states originally settled by Mormon pioneers. It commemorates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847, where the Latter-day Saints settled after being forced from Nauvoo, Illinois and other locations in the eastern United States.

(To be honest, I had no idea what we were celebrating until I came home and looked it up) Anyway, we met up with Morgan's family at Mueller Park this morning for breakfast. It was a blast. Dax jumped right into the freezing creek. (where there is water...)

'Apple? Apple?' Every fruit slightly resembling an apple is now called an apple.

My One Hour Project That Turned Out to be a 3 Hour Project

A friend of mine dropped off some fabric to me today. I figured I'd throw together a blanket for Dax since it was super soft fabric. From what I read online, it would only take 45mins- 1 hour.

The sewing machine I was using hates me. I wrestled with it for 3 hours finally finishing this cute cuddle blankie for my little man.
